  1.     This is the help file for an a Resedit file called "Icon Archive." The Resedit file contains close to 50 icons that can be used with system 7's feature of allowing a user to paste new icons over almost any standard icon.
  2.     I assume that you have a working knowledge of the mac interface and a limited knowledge of ResEdit.

  4. How to install the icons:

  6. The first step is to copy an icon from the Resedit file into the clipboard. 
  7.     1. Open Resedit and open the file "Icon Archive."
  8.     2. Open the "ICN#" resource by double clicking on it.
  9.     3. Click on the icon that you would wish to copy.
  10.     4. Select "Copy" From the Edit menu. (Fig 1.)

  28. The second step is to go to the file you want a new icon for and prepare to copy.
  29.     1. Go into the finder and Find the file you want to change the icon 
  30.         of. (you can change any icon except for the trash and lock files)
  31.     2. Click on the file and choose "Get Info" from the File menu.
  32.     3. Click on the old icon until so that it is highlighted. (Fig 2)

  51. The final step is to paste the new icon by choosing the "Paste"     from the file menu. (Fig 3)
